Memorial Middle School is proud to report on its annual food drive to benefit Feeding South Dakota, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food assistance to those in need in our state.
The food drive took place from November 14th-18th, and we asked students, staff, and community members to donate non-perishable food items. This year we included an online option for supporting Feeding South Dakota. Our school community did an amazing job collecting food and money donations. As a school, we raised over $6714.39! Way to go, MMS! The 7th-Grade Blue Dynamo team was the overall school-wide leader in donations for the week.
"We are excited to support such a worthy cause and give back to our community during the holiday season," said Memorial Middle School Principal Nancy Hagen. "We thank everyone who participated and helped make a difference in the lives of those in need."
Feeding South Dakota provides food assistance to over 100,000 individuals across the state, and the need for donations is especially high during the holiday season. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will make a real difference in the lives of those in need.
Thank you for your support. Happy holidays from Memorial Middle School.
